~Four-time Palanca Awardee

Macario D. Tiu is a Davaoeño author whose works were greatly made from his imagination and inspiration of educating people of the history, and to the various situation of the life of a Filipino. This is a final output in Literature 11 containing his biography and short story analysis.

He is an author from Davao. He has been a Mindanao scholar, historian, acommunity poet, award-winning writer, editor and researcher for English and Visayan story which are primarily fiction . His works are mostly written in Cebuano and rarely in English. He has been described to be a gifted storyteller who uses his wide imagination in creating his wonderful literary works. Currently, he is a professor at the Ateneo de Davao University and serves as the chair for Humanities Division. He is one of the members of the Davao Writers Guild and a contributor of “Dagmay”, an online Literary Journal of the Davao Writers Guild which aims to visualize the literary expressions of the Davao Community, in any kind of medium used. Dagmay has been recognized by the SunStar Davao and it will come out as a literary page, in the said publication every Sunday. He has proudly been a three-time hall of fame awardee in the Palanca Awards.
